Workshops & Presentations

Workshops/presentations include academic support, college readiness, career planning, health career preparation, and team building activities

Academic support prepares students to learn and study for the New York State Regents exams and benefit from the following academic tools for success: learning styles, stress management, reading comprehension, goal setting, study skills, note taking, and time management

College readiness and career planning offer students a chance to learn about the college application process (application, essay writing, and letters of recommendation) including opportunities to speak with college personnel and conduct mock interviews.  Students will increase their awareness of college financing and scholarship search including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Supplemental presentations include "How to Get Into Medical School" and "STEM Opportunities."

Health career preparation offers students an opportunity to increase their social and academic readiness for college entry into the allied health and related health professions.  Students participate in hands-on interactive clinical activities to gain an awareness of the health professions.

Team building presentations help develop leadership and communication skills through interactive activities and challenges.
